Export specification

Use the export specification function to download an Excel XLSX file with the specification of all survey forms within a Digital property, a list of all fields available for use in the Digital configuration, and field mappings used by custom parameters.

  1. To access the export function, in the left hand menu click the Bulk Update option.

  2. To export the specification specification file, click the Export Property Mapping button.

    The Export button.

    The specification of the property is exported to an XLSX file that is downloaded to your local machine.

  3. Load the file in a spreadsheet editor to see the specification for the property.

The exported specification file consists of these pages, often displayed as tabs in a spreadsheet editor.

Reusable fields mapping

Reusable fields shows the mapping of the reusable fields library between Digital and Medallia Experience Cloud. The reusable fields mapping page of a specification file has these columns:

EC Key

The Experience Cloud field that is mapped to this Digital Feedback field.

EC Type

The ContentKind of the field.

EC Friendly Name

The display name used in the Report Field Mapping dropdown:

Usage

Define if the field should be used as a question mapping or as a custom parameter mapping. A field can only have 1 usage type.

Share Level

Define if the field is available across the entire Digital account or only for specific properties.

Properties

This column is only populated if the Share Level of the field is set to Properties. A comma-separated list of property IDs where the field is available.

Custom parameter mapping

Custom parameters shows the mapping between Digital custom parameters and Medallia Experience Cloud. Each row represents a unique custom parameter. The custom parameters mapping page of a specification file has these columns:

IDThe internal custom parameter numeric identifier.
NameThe custom parameter name configured in the Command Center.
EC Key

The Experience Cloud field that is used in Digital Feedback.

Field TypeThe type of custom parameter that was configured in the Command Center.

Forms

Forms shows the fields that each survey form uses. Each row is a field, so forms usually consist of multiple rows. The forms page of a specification file has these columns:

Form IDThe internal form identifier, often shown in multiple rows to represent the fields in a survey form.
Form NameThe modifiable survey form name.
Internal NameThe generated name for this field.
Component typeWhich survey component this row represents.
LabelIs used in the survey form
EC Key

The Experience Cloud field that is used in Digital Feedback.

Conditional Display

If the field uses a condition, this column shows the details. For example:

If the field is configured to use multiple options, this column shows the details. For example:
