Register with a community

Register with a community to join it and participate in its challenges

Depending on whether your community is Open or Closed, you may need to be invited to join before you can register and get involved. You can tell which type of community you're joining by visiting the Medallia Ideas URL:

  • Open communities show the community home page with options to Sign in or Register in the upper right. Click the option to begin the registration process.

  • ​Closed communities present a sign-in page meaning you need to be invited before you can participate.

    When you receive your invite, click the Create an account link to validate your email and be directed to the community for registration. For example:

  1. On the Medallia Ideas sign-in page, choose your authentication method.
    Depending on how the community is configured, there are different ways you verify your identity when you register.

    Medallia Ideas account

    Provide a username, email address, and password. You will get an email to verify your address.

    Social media sign in

    Use your social media account (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). You will get directed to the social media sign-in page, and then redirected back to Medallia Ideas.

    Organization sign in (or similar text)

    Use your organizations single-sign in (SSO) system. You will get directed to the sign-in systems page, and then redirected back to Medallia Ideas.

    After verifying your identity, you will be taken to the registration page.
  2. Provide the required profile information and agree to the terms of use, then click Register.
    • Display name — Represents you in the community. If however, you enter your First and Last name during the profile set up these will be used instead.
    • Email address — The email you would like Ideas to send notifications to.
    • Password — Your password must contain a minimum of 8 characters.

  3. Create your profile by providing required and optional information about you.
    • Display name (required)
    • First and Last name (to show instead of the Display name)
    • City
    • Country (required)
    • Time zone (required)
    • Language (required)
    Tip: Emails from

    Medallia Ideas to you will

    use the First and Last name, unless you omit them, in which case the email will use your Display name instead.
  4. Click Next (as necessary) and provide information about your skills and a short bio, and answers to any additional questions asked by the community.
  5. Click Save.
You can now participate in the community.
