Medallia Digital Web 2.36 release notes

System requirements

Digital for Web requirements

  • Digital Command Center browsers: Latest two versions of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox. Survey management is not supported in Internet Explorer.

Survey-taking requirements

  • Desktop browsers
    • Latest two versions of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox.

    • Microsoft Windows 10 for Microsoft Internet Explorer 11: latest available consumer build.

    • Other browsers or older versions will likely work; however, Medallia not certify a full experience in browsers older than two years. Any issues will be handled on a best-effort basis.

  • Mobile browsers

    • Google Chrome: latest version

    • Android: latest version

    • Safari for iOS: latest version

  • Network connectivity requirements: Digital surveys require unobstructed network connectivity over an HTTPS connection. If your organization employs a content security policy or any other network filtering method, you may need to allow-list Medallia domains. For more information, refer to allow-list documentation or contact your Digital expert.
  • ADA / WCAG compliance: Digital Web is certified WCAG 2.0 Level AA. For the best survey experience, Medallia recommends the following screen reader and browser combinations:
    • Microsoft Windows: Mozilla Firefox + NVDA; Google Chrome + JAWS; and Internet Explorer 11 + Jaws

    • Apple MacOS: Safari + Voice Over

    • Android: Google Chrome + TapTalk

    • iOS: Safari + Voice Over

Highlights

  • Digital Anywhere supports a new survey component for 1-7 ratings. In sync with Digital Web behavior, this option requires that your instance be provisioned and the option enabled. This new scale is fully compatible with Experience Cloud reports.

  • Customers can define a custom value that will be used as a Z-Index for the always-on button. The default state is empty, and existing configuration remains.

  • Forms and invitations support out-of-the-box text direction detection. RTL language forms and invitations will be automatically aligned.

Resolved issues

  • Voiceover announcements no longer read "undefined" for rating components when no scales are displayed.

  • Instructional text under the exclude URL option and code trigger settings is accurate and updated.

  • The embedded CX Journeys code running onsite has been updated to the latest version.

  • The header on ratings components in the Digital command center is aligned as expected.

  • Email component validation does not accept invalid email addresses. The email field accepts email addresses in the following format: [numbers,letters,dots]@[numbers,letters].[letters]

  • For button trigger forms, the animated slider form display slides in from the same corner as the button location.

  • The preview screen displays the correct language when language detection is based on custom parameters.

  • When users enter the ">" "<" characters as part of form options, these characters appear as expected (and no longer as as "&gt" and "&lt"). This occurred in the inbox as well as in export and forwarded mail and impacted the readability of content.

  • "The "Powered by Medallia" markup and behavior are aligned throughout all sections of the survey (invite, thank you, etc.).

  • Users can successfully edit forms without seeing error messages, which was occurring in some cases.

  • Pressing the ESC key successfully closes the network communication error page.

  • Unnecessary validation has been removed for the always-on input name.

  • The screen capture widget has been upgraded to allow for the following:
    • The widget code is hosted on the Medallia CDN.

    • Any updates are under Medallia governance.

    • CSP rules are supported without unsafe-inline or nonce.

  • Records have different UUIDs and survey IDs.

  • Tabindex from image components has been removed for Lightbox surveys.
