Testing Implementation Using the Digital Experience Analytics Browser Extension

We understand the importance of testing during a Digital Experience Analytics (DXA) implementation, which is why our Google Chrome browser extension allows you to view successful API calls and their contents within the browser console.

Our extension can be installed from the Chrome Web Store or alternatively, you will be prompted to install the extension if you visit the Heatmaps section of the DXA portal.

You will now need to configure the extension to allow logging. Once installed:

  1. Go to the Google Chrome Extensions menu.
  2. On the right-hand side of the DXA extension listing, go to More actions > Options.

    The Logging window appears.Logging window

  3. On the Logging window, select Logging Enabled.

    A list of sub-options appears.

  4. Ensure all sub-options are also selected.
  5. Close the Logging window.

With the above configured, you will now need to ensure that you are logged into the DXA platform at all times in the same browser session during testing for the extension to be able to successfully log in to the console.

Where appropriate, DXA have provided information on testing successful implementation of features within our knowledgebase. These can be found under the Testing sub-heading of the relevant implementation sections.
