Configure an attribute as the key for an external customer data source

MXO lets you use any attribute as the key for a data adapter. MXO allows you to choose which key value to pass to each data source to retrieve data, when you create and configure new data adapters.

For example, for a CRM data source, MXO can send the unique customer identifier stored in the Customer Key attribute. For a marketing solution using email address as the customer identifier, MXO can send the customer’s email address, captured and stored in a key attribute called Email Address.

Select the attribute to use as a key

You select the attribute to use as a key when creating and configuring a new data adapter to connect to an external data source, as follows:
