Medallia Digital Mobile SDK 4.1.0 (iOS)

Released starting 20th November 2022

Digital SDK supports these operating systems:

  • iOS 10.0 or later. See In-App for iOS Setup for additional information.
  • Apache Cordova

  • React Native

Release highlights

  • The banner invitation and the Thank you prompt now include the "Use the Default OS font" setting, which configures the Digital Mobile SDK to use the device's default OS system font.

  • The Banner invitation is now accessible out of the box. Screen reader users no longer use the native alert invite alternative for surveys with a banner invitation.

  • Digital In-App now announces a feedback submission indicator at all times for voice-over users, including the scenario when the survey is followed by a thank you prompt.

  • The React Native plugin integration process for iOS changed to be faster and less error-prone. See here for the details.

  • The Digital In-App sampling rule evaluation flow has been optimized to be evaluated only once in a session.

  • The Origin Type field shown on Experience Cloud dashboards now reports different origin types for Digital In-App properties. Possible values are Preview, Invitation, and Button.

  • Digital In-App now supports a regex value for complex custom rules used by invitation surveys.

  • The FeedbackDelegate payload attribute has been enhanced to include the FormID of the submitted survey.

Resolved issues

iOS

  • In some rare cases, Digital In-App reported an InvitationDisplayed statistic event when it should not, causing some inconsistency in the response rate reports.

  • Fixed a banner invitation UI distortion on iOS 16 when the screen rotated after displaying the banner.

  • When using the feedback survey deep links, Digital In-App opened the linked app in the background instead of redirecting the user to the linked app.

  • Digital In-App didn’t evaluate the invitation survey rules correctly when using a generic rule with a "contains" comparator. *Relevant to applications that are using the new targeting mechanism.

  • Digital In-App didn’t collect custom parameters that include a dot in their parameter name. Relevant to applications that are using the new targeting mechanism.

  • The "Powered By Medallia" text was not properly aligned on the thank you prompt.

  • Digital In-App could not disable some of the non-critical collected metadata attributes.

  • Digital In-App did not support a case of using the same CSS file for two different surveys, while one used it as a primary CSS and the other as a secondary CSS. *Relevant to customers in a migration process to the new survey design and using the shared library resources feature.

  • Marking of all options was erroneously mandatory for a required checkbox question on the Digital In-App new survey design.

  • React Native plugin integration issues were causing a problem to run the app with a simulator.

iOS Preview App

  • The "Scan QR Code" option on the Medallia Digital Previews app was not reachable in some small resolution iOS devices.

  • For translated surveys, the Medallia Digital previews app used the default language title instead of the translated one.

  • The Digital previews app failed to display a survey that included an image name with special characters.
