Capture customer activity

Depending on the type of touchpoint for which you want to capture customer activity, you create your activity capture points as follows:

  • For web, use the MXO extension.

  • For mobile apps, use the MXO SDK.

  • For other channels, use the main MXO UI.

Create an activity capture point (MXO UI)

  1. In MXO go to Collect > Interaction Points.

  2. Select the interaction point for which you want to create an activity capture point. This opens the Interaction Points view.

  3. Click + Create in the Activity Capture Points section.

  4. Enter a name for your capture point.

  5. Select how to set the proposition for this capture point. Choose either:

    • Set Proposition manually. Specify a single proposition to associate with this capture point.

    • Set Proposition automatically. MXO sets the proposition automatically, at runtime.

  6. Do one of the following:
    FieldDescription
Set Proposition manuallySpecify the Proposition and Activity type to associate with this capture point.
Set Proposition automatically1. Specify the Attribute and Activity type to associate with this capture point. 1. Specify what MXO should do if the Proposition is unrecognized. Choose from: * Use an existing Proposition. MXO attributes the activity to an existing proposition. * Generate a new Dynamic Proposition under an existing parent. MXO generates a new dynamic proposition, on-the-fly, and attributes the activity to that proposition. * Do not record activity. MXO ignores the activity.
  7. Select when MXO should track customer activity. Choose either:

    • Interaction Load

    • Click or tap

  8. If you select Click or tap, enter the path for the element for which you want capture customer activity. For web touchpoints this is the unique HTML element path that MXO uses to find the element on a page. For example, html > body > div:eq(2) > div > div:eq(2) > div > div > div > a:eq(1). We support a variety of selectors for use in element paths.

  9. Specify whether or not the activity associated with this capture point constitutes a completion activity.

  10. Click Save to finish the creation process.
