Apps and packages begin the implementation process with a new Experience Cloud instance.

An app is a pre-configured solution that combines industry best practices with insights from global deployments. It helps initiate new programs and provides the efficient scaling of existing ones by incorporating custom features. These features accelerate the launch of programs or features by allowing you to install and customize configurations, rather than starting from scratch.

Each app is a set of configurable entities — like dashboards, custom modules, roles, reports, surveys, and more — necessary to complete a solution, and which also allows you to replicate configurations across Experience Cloud instances. You can create and distribute your own apps on MedalliaXchange.

Medallia best practice packages (BPPs) are examples of apps that include comprehensive feedback programs with minimal decision-making. And, since an instance can have one or more apps, you might start with an Employee Services app and later add the Retail Contact Center Experience app for call center feedback.
