Medallia release cycles

Software release cycles that require documentation.

Medallia documentation primarily describes complete, release features. However, sometimes it is necessary to document a feature before it is released. These are the release cycles in which documentation might be produced:

  • General Availability (GA) — Available to all Medallia clients of the software.

  • Early Adopter Programs (EAP) — Targeted to a small set of Medallia clients; clients may request to be included.

  • Closed EAP — Targeted to a specific set of Medallia clients; may never become GA. Does NOT get documentation.

  • Beta — An early-access period in which limited clients may try out, test, and provide feedback about functionality prior to the feature being made generally available.

  • Restricted access — Use during 2024 for limited GenAI features.

Early Adopter Programs (EAP)

When a feature or product is EAP, include this global Note as a conref in the documentation.

Important: This feature is available upon request. Ask your Medallia expert to file a Feature activation request with Medallia Support.

On rare occasion you might need to include the notice in a paragraph. In that case, include this global ph as a conref in the paragraph:

Closed EAP

Restriction: We do not include documentation for Closed EAPs. If you are pressed to document a Closed EAP feature or product, check with your manager for approval.

A closed EAP is when a feature is released to one or a few clients only, and other clients may not request to be included in the program.

Beta

Restriction: This functionality is currently in Beta. During this early access period, clients in the Beta program can learn about, try out, and test this feature, and they can provide feedback about it. This stage allows Medallia to refine the feature's design before its general availability. Be aware that functionality may change before then.
