Import methods

Import methods, which are a series of feeds and pull methods, receive or retrieve data from the external company source, and then pass the data to a designated importer type, to add the records to the database.

Import methods include:
  • SFTP PullsRetrieve files from the company using secure file transfer protocol (SFTP).

  • Amazon S3 FTP Pulls — The data are in a file received directly from a secure Amazon S3 bucket. This option requires an AWS access account.

  • Medallia API — Uses HTTP to retrieve the file from a company's server.

External systems feed data to Medallia Experience Cloud via Amazon S3 bucket (FTP pull), FTP and SFTP pull, and HTTP POST (Medallia API) importers

Important: Use SFTP to transfer files to Experience Cloud. SFTP provides a fast, secure method that ensures privacy and puts the data under the control of the company until it is imported into Experience Cloud. Consider the Amazon S3 buckets only when the other options are not available.
