The Moderator role
Moderators oversee submissions and user activity in a challenge, they engage users by commenting, and they facilitate discussions by approving ideas, advancing them through stages, or removing inappropriate content.
Moderators have access to the Moderator toolbar, which is the black bar visible above the title of an Idea on the Idea page. The toolbar options available depend on the type of challenge you are moderating. This example for a funnel challenge includes the three basic options, Edit, Move, and Idea Status, and additionally includes Moderation status,.
Action | Description |
---|---|
Edit | Modify an existing idea. Opens the Idea submission form described in Post an idea. |
Move | Move an idea from one challenge to another. For information, see Moving an idea. |
Idea Status | Add a status label (such as, under review, adopted, or a custom status label) to an idea. The status label is visible to both the idea author and the community. See Manage idea status labels for more information. |
Moderation Status | Remove ideas, or stop further comments or votes (or both) from being submitted. Note: When an idea has been removed it will still be visible to moderators and administrators, but users will not see them.
|
Advancement | In funnel challenges, this option advances ideas to the next phase. To learn how to advance ideas see Advancing ideas in a funnel challenge. |
Milestone Actions | In milestone challenges, this option approves or rejects ideas that are at an approval milestone, or reverts ideas (moves them back to the previous milestone) when they are in a refinement milestone. |
