SIP
SIP settings offer the flexibility to supersede the SIP-related configuration of the Organization.
On the Call Target page, the SIP section provides a way to override SIP-related settings configured for the Organization. This can be useful when Call Targets send callbacks to different data centers with unique requirements or any time individual Call Targets need to meet different criteria for things like TLS compliance, DTMF detection, SIP header formatting.
The SIP section contains three fields:
- Override Organization SIP Settings: Select the checkbox to apply different SIP settings to a Call Target compared to the global settings.
- SIP Termination URI: This field is optional. Overriding SIP settings allows you to designate different behavior for Call Targets that face unique requirements for SIP communication. If your company uses its own SIP Trunk Termination URI to save money on toll charges compared to standard phone lines, you can enter it here to instruct Mindful to use it.
- Use SIP REFER for Choose Holds: Select this to use SIP REFER for choose-hold calls. With this setting enabled, instead of initiating a new SIP session via INVITE, resulting in a new call to the contact center, Mindful will use REFER to allow the contact center to take back control of the same call and route it accordingly.
- Append UUI to Refer-To Header: Select this to automatically append a UUI string to the Refer-To header on SIP messages to the contact center.
If you plan to use your own SIP Termination URI, consult the best practices below to ensure smooth operation.
- G.711 is the default codec for SIP trunking.
- Add the necessary IP addresses (based on your region) to your access control list to enable communication of SIP and RTP traffic to and from the SIP Termination URI. Contact the Mindful Support team to obtain the IPs for your region.
