Introduction to Writing Queries

In MXO, creating Engagement Queries is a way to explore customer interactions with your offerings. You can manage these queries and share the audiences derived from them on the Dynamic Audiences page.

How many Engagement Queries can I create?

You can create up to ten Engagement Queries by default. For additional queries, please contact your Medallia representative.

Is my Engagement Query quota applied at the Tenant or Space level?

Your Engagement Query limit is set per Space, allowing up to ten queries in each by default.

Can I edit or delete queries to stay within my quota?

To manage your quota, you may edit or delete queries, but this will result in the loss of all related data, including Audience statistics and Journey Visualizations. For additional queries, consider discussing your needs with a Medallia representative.

Workflow for defining queries

To define your audience, use filters to specify customer interactions within their journeys. Follow these steps:

  1. Clearly define your Business Use Case and consider using a simplified version as your query's name.
  2. Describe the target audience you aim to engage.
  3. Create an Engagement Query focusing on the desired customer interactions.
  4. Analyze the query results, refining as needed to ensure the audience is accurate and appropriately sized.
  5. If desired, export the results for external use, such as in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Queries filter customer journeys to identify specific brand interactions, forming an audience for targeted marketing.
