How to Use Images in Surveys
Images can be placed into any survey prompt, chat notification, or email by inserting the following syntax. The syntax can be located for any image by selecting the view icon (eye icon above).
This means you can place an image in a Greeting, Instructions, Closing, and Question prompt and also in the Scale Labels of a question, as shown in the example below. Although this example uses a Number question type, you may apply this same process to other question types.
To create a question like this example:
- In the Questions tab, click the Add New Question button.
- Complete the Label, Type, Question Prompt, and Max Response fields as shown below.
- Click on Advanced Settings.
- In the Min scale/No label field, add your desired label. If you only want an image without a label, skip this step.
- Go to your Images tab and click the View icon for the image that you would like to add.
- In the modal window that appears, click the Copy icon next to Markdown (survey syntax).
- Return to Advanced Settings and paste the Markdown (survey syntax) in the Min Scale/No label field.
- Change MyImageAlt to the name of your Min Scale/No label as shown. The image will still appear in your survey if you do not change MyImageAlt to your label name.
- Repeat steps 4 through 8 for your Middle scale label and then again for your Max scale/Yes label.
- Click the Update button.
Images in SMS Messages
Since SMS does not support embedded images, if you attempt to embed an image via SMS it will be converted to plain text.
The syntax ![Image Alt Text](Image URL*) will be sent in plain text as "Image Alt Text: Image URL".
