Editing live surveys

When your survey is live, you can still make changes to it.

Tip: If you have no responses registered for your survey, you can close the survey. Its status will automatically change back to "in development" and all edit options will be available again.
Note: For all textual changes, inline editing is possible in a live survey. This may be faster than editing the entire question.
Important: Always doublecheck your existing branching and page display logic after making changes to a live survey.

The following explains what editing actions are possible per survey element.

Survey questions

  • Add new survey questions.

  • Move questions around — Select the arrow next to the question and select Move.

  • Copy questions — Select the arrow next to the question and select Copy.

  • Marking questions as required or not required — Select the arrow next to the question and select Required or Not required.

Warning: Deleting questions in a live survey is not possible. If you delete a question, all responses to the question will also be deleted. If the question no longer applies, you can hide the question. Make sure that when the question is hidden that it is not required.

Answer choices

  • Add new answer choices — In the question editor, add a new answer choice. You can add choices in bulk to add multiple answer choices at the same time. Additionally, select Other, please specify and None of the above answer options if you want to add those.
