Medallia Digital Web 2.34 release notes

Highlights

  • Package generation time for Dynamic Hybrid Hosted customers has improved.

  • The option to use the same reusable field twice in a survey has been disabled to prevent corruption in Experience Cloud reporting.

  • The user management screen in Digital Command Center has been removed for customers using Digital roles in Experience Cloud.

  • To increase the robustness of the v2 experience cloud integration, the survey e-field is now synced by sequence ID instead of by display name, which can be duplicated.

  • Freeze mode is required in fewer cases for customers using Dynamic Hybrid Hosting.

  • As part of the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance efforts, it is now possible to set an automatic Personally Identifiable Information and Masking Feedback Deletion policy for feedback older than a set number of days. Personal Information Masking applies to the following areas:
    • Feedback fields (Text Input, Text Area, E-Mail, and URL)

    • All custom parameters

    • URLs

    • URL query strings

    • Screen capture images

    • Session recording links

    • IP addresses (If collected)

Feedback deletion will delete the entire feedback record.
Note: This policy applies to feedback and data stored in Digital and does not impact data privacy policies defined in Experience Cloud.
  • The left panel in the Medallia Digital Command Center displays version, property ID, and account ID. This feature is only available for desktops with a minimum of 1366x768 resolution.

  • Version 2 integrations include logic that identifies the e_field key in Medallia Experience Cloud in instances where UUIDs are missing during v2 configuration. This improvement allows for display names to be searched on or created in Experience Cloud instances.

Resolved issues

  • In custom HTML implementations, the feedback name matches the survey ID as expected.

  • A message appears to alert users when they attempt to translate a live (published) survey.

  • Digital standalone customers can export multiple feedback items in cases where one feedback item contains a screen capture link.

  • Targeting rules can be saved in cases where a custom button exists but has no label.

  • If a survey question contains more than one custom parameter and one of these parameters is missing during runtime, all custom parameters will display properly.

  • In cases of duplicate customer properties, legacy survey content appears as expected.

  • Events indicating that Digital code has completed loading fire automatically when the process is complete.

  • Surveys of type "Invite" can be translated.

  • These areas have been improved for better accessibility:
    • Out-of-the-box surveys provide better support for visually impaired users based on the improved contrast ratio of the background and text of rating components and survey text.

    • A redundant tab index was removed from the Medallia logo, improving the survey experience for customers using keyboard navigation.

    • Invitation surveys and all survey modals now automatically capture the screen capture focus, even if the user is in the browser's URL box.

    • Pressing Tab at the end of the survey returns users to the beginning of the survey as expected.

  • When asynchronous integration is enabled, components are created in Medallia Experience Cloud and are no longer duplicated in certain cases.

  • In published surveys, question fields that are hidden behind a conditional display remain hidden.

  • Survey components appear accurately in versions of iOS when using Safari or Chrome.

  • The customer parameter simulator in Preview Mode functions properly.

  • Firefox users no longer receive warnings related to the cookies and the "Samesite" attribute.

  • The export process for inbox messages does not time out when initiated by Digital standalone customers.
