Social Feedback Response permissions

Reporting > Action > Social Management Response Permissions

Users with roles that have Respond Directly to Social Feedback permission under the Social section listed in Reporting permissions can post Respond to Social feedback to social feedback reviews. You can change response permissions for units from the Social Management Response Permissions screen.

Contact your Medallia to enable Social Feedback responses on your instance.

Configuring Social Feedback response permissions

  1. From the Social Management Response Permissions screen, select a source.

  2. Choose one of these options:

    • To disable responses for certain units and unit groups, move them into the right box.

    • To re-enable responses for certain units and unit groups, move them into the left box.

    • To prevent users from overriding response permissions from the Source Settings and Issues screen, deselect the Allow End-user Override via Source Settings and Issues checkbox.

    • To enable users to override response permissions from the Source Settings and Issues screen, select the Allow End-user Override via Source Settings and Issues checkbox.

In this example, responses for Booking.com are enabled and users cannot manage permissions from the Source Settings and Issues screen.

Response permissions are managed at the social media site level.

Properties

Turn responding off
Shuttling units and unit groups over the right disables responses for specific sources (for example, Booking.com). Shuttling them back to the left enables them again. You can disable responses at the unit or unit group level.

When Allow End-user Override via Source Settings and Issues is not selected, users are no longer able to respond to the source's reviews from the Responses feed module as the Respond button no longer appears.

Restriction: Changes to this field override any previous permission changes issued from the Source Settings & Issues screen.
Allow End-user Override via Source Settings and Issues
Only when using Source Settings & Issue screen in legacy Reporting. Whether or not users can enable or disable responses for the selected source.
Selected
Users can control the source's response permissions at the individual unit level. When selected, Enable External Response checkbox in the Source Settings & Issues tab of the Responses report is visible. In the case that responses are disabled for a certain unit, users can re-enable them from the Source Settings & Issues screen.

There is an Enable External Response checkbox for the source if you can control permissions at the individual unit level.

Not selected
Users cannot control the entire source's response permissions at the individual unit level. When selected, Enable External Response (as well as Enabled Integrated Response for TripAdvisor) in the Source Settings & Issues tab of the Responses report is not visible:

There is no Enable External Response checkbox for the source if you cannot control permissions at the individual unit level.

Note: When Allow End-user Override via Source Settings and Issues is not selected for TripAdvisor, unit and unit groups in the left box behaves as if Enable external responses is selected, which sets the response method to Link to source site instead of Pop-up window to source site. Rechecking Allow End-user Override via Source Settings and Issues brings back both checkboxes, though only Enable external responses is selected and Enable integrated responses is not, regardless of previous settings, making any unit group in the left box that previously had Enable integrated responses selected to have this option disabled.
