Import with Feed Pulls using SSH

When importing with a Feed Pull, the company system feeds the file to the Medallia Experience Cloud SFTP server, which notifies the appropriate import specification to initiate an SFTP pull request from the server. Medallia SFTP server acts as a server host to both the company system and the Experience Cloud instance. As such, both the client and company administrators generate SSH keys, install the private ones locally, and then provide the public ones to Experience Cloud to install on the SFTP server.

Both public keys are installed on the SFTP server host

Restriction: Experience Cloud requires a comment in the key, even though the standard says the Comment field is optional. Medallia recommends including your email address as the comment to add to the keys to identify who generated the key.

To setup a Feed Pull using a Medallia SFTP server:

  1. The company admin generates an SSH key pair, and then:

    1. Installs the private key on the company system.

    2. Sends the public key to the Experience Cloud admin.

  2. The Experience Cloud admin:

    1. Generates an SSH key pair per Generating SSH Key pairs.

    2. Collects the public key and the private key with its passphrase, and files a support ticket to install the public key on the SFTP server.

    3. Installs the private key and pass phrase in the import specification that will process the data from the company.
