Notices

Changes that affect functionality.

Sign-in requires SSO or MFA

Restriction: Beginning 1 November 2025 the default sign-in process for Medallia Experience Cloud requires Single Sign-On (SSO) or multi-factor authentication (MFA). Existing accounts not using either SSO or MFA need to be converted to SSO or MFA, and may continue to exist as-is until 31 January 2027, at which time they will be blocked.

Email feed deprecation

Restriction: As of the Winter 2025 release, the ability to set up Email feeds is deprecated. Customers that had Email feeds prior to Winter 2025 may continue to use those exports, and they will also still be able to set up new ones. If you require the use of Email feeds, submit a Feature activation request so that teams can validate the use of this now-deprecated feature.

JQuery support in Surveys deprecation

Warning: Support for jQuery in Surveys is deprecated and will removed in the future. Surveys currently using jQuery selectors like $(dom-selector).action() may not function correctly and could cause custom HTML to render improperly. jQuery is not available in instances not already using it.

Auto Importer and passwords deprecation

Warning: It is possible to update user-account passwords through Auto Importer. This feature may be deprecated in a future release. If your company requires this feature, contact your Medallia representative to have them validate the requirement with the Medallia Global Security and Compliance (GSC) team.

Release highlights

New or improved features

API

  • To enhance stability and optimize usage, thresholds are now enforced on requests to the Public Query API. These thresholds apply to all clients.

Conversations

  • To improve responsiveness and reduce processing time when working with large datasets, the total count of customer records has been removed from the Customers screen header and pagination footer. Instead, the footer now displays the count of records currently loaded or updated as the user navigates through pages.

  • Channel Diagnostics have been improved export performance and usability as follows:

    • Enhanced search and filtering: Optimized options to reduce processed data and speed up exports.
    • Improved CSV export process: Exports now run asynchronously, avoiding UI blocking and improving reliability for large datasets.
    • New Download Center: A dedicated section under Conversations where you can view all requested downloads, check their status, search or filter past exports, and download completed files.

Emails

  • Feedback Responses emails and Adhoc email inviters now support configuring domain-aligned Return-Paths. Clients using custom email domains (email masking) can now assign a unique Return-Path per domain and ensure compliance with email authentication standards such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.

Feedback

  • generative AI iconSmart Response is now supported for Conversation Records with an associated email value. This enhancement expands Smart Response availability across more record types and enables users to respond more effectively using GenAI.

  • The Activity Log in the Responses Form, Invitations Form, and Responses Feed now displays timestamps based on the local timezone user's device, improving clarity and consistency across workflows. This update applies only to the in-product view; export files and the a_log_notes field continue to show timestamps as before. For information, see Responses Form, Responses Feed, and Invitations reports.>

Medallia Mobile

  • Medallia Voices and Medallia Mobile now support customization of email templates for Voices Congratulate, Voices Forward, and Medallia Mobile Forward actions. Each can have their own unique templates.

  • Medallia Mobile now supports look and feel customizations (branding) for colors on tab bars, text colors, and buttons.

Reporting

  • Action Plan Templates now have a view only role permission to allow users to use templates without being able to change them.

  • Action Plans can now be triggered in-context from the following modules:

    • Big number
    • Dial
    • Dial with dynamic goal
    • Grouped dials

Security

  • All NEW Medallia Experience Cloud accounts must use either Single Sign-On (SSO) or multi-factor authentication (MFA). Existing accounts need to be converted to SSO or MFA before 31 January 2027, after which unconverted accounts will be blocked. Additionally:

    • All new and existing accounts with a role that includes the Do Anything permission require SSO or MFA now.
    • Clients using SSO are encouraged to work with your Identity Provider (IdP) to use some form of MFA.
    • Clients wishing to opt out of the MFA enforcement must engage their Medallia Sales contact to execute an "Insecure User Access" addendum to your software agreement. Please do so before the transition period to ensure no impact on your program.
    • Accounts created via "SSO on-the-fly" provisioning are automatically blocked from signing in via the login form. Administrators can override this behavior via Auto Importer if desired.

Speech

  • New e-fields allow better visibility into Speech processing. Four fields contain date stamps for the beginning and completion of the Speech process for a given record, and the fifth provides a concrete Success or Failure value to determine the disposition of the record. The new fields are e_connector_poll_start_time, e_connector_accept_time, e_speech_accept_time, e_speech_completed_time, and e_speech_success.

Text Analytics

  • generative AI iconGenAI supported languages now include French and German in Root Cause Assist, Smart Response, Intelligent Summaries.
