Getting started with Capacitor SDK

Capacitor SDK for Medallia Experience Orchestration.

Follow the documentation on how to use Medallia Experience Orchestration Capacitor SDK.

Requirements for Capacitor SDK version 4.1.0

  1. Capacitor requirements:
    • Capacitor Android 7.4.2
    • Capacitor iOS 7.4.2
    • Capacitor Core 7.4.2
      Note: Only version 7.4.2 of the Capacitor libraries is supported by the SDK. Use newer versions at your oun risk.
  2. iOS requirements:
    • Minimum deployment target 15.0
    • Xcode 26.+
    • Base iOS version 26.0
  3. Android requirements:

Registration of Medallia's NPM

To register Medallias NPM, please add the following registry to your ~/.npmrc files:
@medallia:registry=https://repository.medallia.com/artifactory/api/npm/public-npm

Installation of the MXO Capacitor SDK

Install the Medallia Experience Orchestration SDK using NPM. Navigate to your App's root folder and run the following command:
npm install @medallia/mxo-capacitor-js-sdk
npx cap sync
If iOS and/or Android has not been added to your project, add them using the following commands as described in the Capacitor documentation for iOS and Android:
npm install @capacitor/ios
npx cap add ios
npm install @capacitor/android
npx cap add android
npx cap sync

Installation for iOS

Starting with MXO Capacitor SDK 4.1.0, the npm package includes a Package.swift file so the plugin can be integrated through Swift Package Manager (SPM) on iOS.

For Capacitor iOS projects using SPM, install or upgrade the SDK and sync:

npm install @medallia/mxo-capacitor-js-sdk@latest
npx cap sync ios

Capacitor wires the plugin through SPM during sync.

Note: To migrate an existing Capacitor iOS project from CocoaPods to SPM, run npx cap spm-migration-assistant. For more details see our migration guide.
Important: For apps using SPM integration, you must add the MXO resource bundle to your Xcode project. Drag and drop MedalliaMXOBundle.bundle into the Copy Bundle Resources build phase of your app target. For more details, see here.

No change required for existing apps using CocoaPods. Continue using npx cap sync with your existing Podfile. The SDK still ships MedalliaMxoCapacitorJsSdk.podspec, and CocoaPods remains fully supported in 4.1.0+.

Installation for Android

In addition to the above, Android SDK requires the following updates to the build.gradle files:

Removal of the MXO Capacitor SDK

To remove the MXO Capacitor SDK from your app, execute the following command in your Terminal:

npm uninstall @medallia/mxo-capacitor-js-sdk
npx cap sync
