Optimizing a Web Touchpoint - Introduction
The flow chart below shows you all the steps in the initial set up, creation and publication of a simple, web-based optimization.
You are going to optimize the home page of a website to present all eligible customers viewing that page with a promotional offer (chosen by you). The exercises are designed to help you:
- Define the Propositions and Activity Types needed to enable one to listen to customer activity on a website.
- Set up an Activity Capture Point to track customer activity on a website.
- Define an Action for the promotional offer you want to display to customers.
- Create an Eligibility Rule to ensure your promotional offer is only shown to customers who view the home page three times or more.
- Test your optimization, using the MXO Extension, to ensure the promotional offer displays to eligible customers, as expected.
For the purposes of the practice optimization, you will stop at Step 12 - Preview and test your optimization. You would only carry out the remaining steps if you were publishing an optimization to your live environment.
