Step 1 - Define your Touchpoint
Touchpoints are the physical and digital places where customers interact with your organization. Touchpoints are classified by channel. Channels might include websites, mobile applications, social channels, call centers, physical locations, and outbound communications.
For this practice optimization, the Touchpoint will be the address of the web page you're working with. To keep the example simple, use the site's home page.
To define your Touchpoint
- In MXO, choose Collect.
- Select Touchpoints and then click Create.
- Enter the following details for your Touchpoint:
Field Description Channel The Channel classification for the Touchpoint you are creating.
For this practice optimization, select Web.
Touchpoint Name for the Touchpoint you are creating.
For this practice optimization, enter Practice Web Site.
Base The Touchpoint's base URI (uniform resource identifier). The base URI cannot contain any additional forward slashes or any characters after the domain name (.com, .edu, .uk, .gov, and so on).
For this practice optimization, this will be the address of your chosen website.
The Base URI box has a red outline until you have entered an acceptable URI. You will not be able to save the Touchpoint until the URI is acceptable (and the box turns blue).
To traverse both http and https pages of a website without requiring separate Touchpoints, preface the Touchpoint URI with http*://.
- Click Save.
