Step 6 - Enable the MXO Extension

The MXO Extension provides a user-friendly interface between MXO and the site you're optimizing, allowing you to preview and edit your optimizations. You'll need to enable the MXO Extension before you can begin using it.

First-time Use

Before enabling the MXO Extension for the first time you must ensure that you:

  • Refresh the browser tab in which you are running MXO. Note that this may require you to log into MXO again.
  • Refresh any browser tabs in which you viewing web Touchpoints.

To enable the MXO Extension

  1. Browse to the page where you want to add your optimization and enable the MXO Extension.For this practice optimization, browse to the home page of your chosen website and click the MXO Extension to enable it.

  2. Log on, if requested. Enter your full email address and password.Contact your site administrator or tenant administration if you don't know the address for your MXO environment, don't have an account set up, or don't know your password.
    Tip: If the MXO Extension control does not change to ON, check that your Touchpoint is correctly defined.
  3. Select In the works as the Snapshot to preview and click Save.You are now in Preview mode and the MXO Extension toolbar is available at the bottom of the screen.
  4. On the toolbar, open the Mode menu and select Edit.

    You are now in Edit mode and can complete the configuration for your optimization. Edit mode is indicated by a blue colored border on the page you are viewing.Edit Mode
Note: You must ensure you activate the Extension on each browser tab where you want to create and preview web optimizations.
