Step 11 - Define Which Customers will see your Personalizations
Use Eligibility Rules to manage the criteria used to determine which content and messaging is presented to customers.
Eligibility Rules can help you structure your optimization to present the right message to the right customer at the right time.
Eligibility Rules are reusable and modular, so you can start simple and then combine them to meet your needs.
Defining an Eligibility Rule is a two-stage process:
- Create the Eligibility Rule.
- Add the Eligibility Rule to your Action.
For this practice optimization, you are going to define an Eligibility Rule that ensures your personalized graphic is only shown to customers who view the Home page of your chosen website three times.
To create an Eligibility Rule
- In MXO, choose Orchestrate.
- Select Eligibility Rules.
- Click Create.
- Enter a name for the rule you want to create.For this practice optimization, enter Home page viewed 3 times or more.
- Type count. MXO automatically suggests data items containing the word count that you might want to use in your rule.
- Select Diminished cumulative count from the list of available data items.
The Choose a data item dialog box opens. - Select the filters to apply for this rule:
- Select Practice Product A as the Proposition name.
- Select Page View as the Activity Type name.
- Click Next.
- On the Describe your selection page, enter a description for your selection.For this practice optimization, enter for view home page.
- Click OK.
- Type is and select is greater than or equal to from the list.
- Type 3.
- Click Save.Your finished rule looks like this:
To add the Eligibility Rule to your Action
- In MXO, choose Orchestrate.
- Select Actions.
- Select the Substitute Practice Graphic Action.
- Switch the Eligibility control to Yes and select Home page viewed 3 times or more from the list.
- Click OK, I'm done.The Eligibility Rule assigned to the Action is displayed in the Actions list, as follows:
