Languages

Communities can display text in the user's preferred or chosen language.

By default, Medallia Ideas displays community text in just one, default language. All users see text in that language.

Optionally Medallia Ideas communities can display text in the user's preferred language, as chosen by the user or defined by their browser settings. When that language is supported in the community, Medallia Ideas displays any content available in that language.

Note: When content is not available in a preferred language, Medallia Ideas uses the text from the default language instead. When there is no defined default language, the text is blank.

Some community content is automatically translated, but other content needs to be translated by the administrator to be shown in a language not the default. Text elements that cannot be changed, such as most of the buttons, and descriptions of time (e.g., This phase ends in...) are automatically translated. The community text you can change is called Admin authored content and includes:

  • The challenge title, short brief and full brief
  • The questions on the idea submission form
  • The titles of pages in your community
  • The welcome text on the Standard home page
  • The content of any custom pages that you add
