Webchat URL parameters

Webchat URL parameters are a mechanism for passing data via a Feedless Web-based conversation survey URL to Medallia Conversations for the purpose of providing identifying information about the business unit.

Feedless conversations URLs always include at least a channel parameter to identify the web-based channel to use, and they usually include a keyword to trigger a conversation (survey):

Webchat URL parameters are identify additional information to pass to the survey, such as the (business) unit to associate with the survey, and other information useful for classifying the business interation. For example, these URL parameters identify the unit, business department, and surveytype (which in this case is the type of respondent action):

To store the parameter values with the survey record, you need to map them to fields in the record via the Webchat URL Parameters in the Conversation settings. These definitions are the ones for the example above:

Each parameter has:

Name: Name of the parameter as it appears in the URL
Field: Survey record field to receive the value.
Map By: Either Text or Sequence number. Some multi-value fields require specific values. Those value can be identified by the value (text) or the sequence number (which is the position of the value in the list of valid values).
