Unit groups data fields

Unit Group Data Fields are attributes of Unit groups that provide additional, custom information about groups. Each Unit Data Field appears as a property on the Unit groups, Unit groups admin, and Bulk groups screens. This screen defines the Groups Data Fields for all Groups in the company.
Avoid using Group Data Fields. In most cases, what you really need is an attribute of a Unit, in which case you should use a Unit data fields.
Additionally, managing the values of Group Data Fields is a manual process; the values cannot be imported.
Properties
- Name
- Name of the field; human-readable label to show in Setup
- Keyname

Unique identifier for the field, such as
group_phone. When referencing the field, preceded the name with ug_, such as "ug_group_phone".Note: When building a program it is important to have a consistent naming convention for creating identifiers. - Priority
- Where this field should appear when a list of Unit Group Data Fields, such as on the Unit groups screen. Lower number appear near the beginning or top of the list.
- Description
- Internal comments about this item. Best practice is to enter a description of the item, include the date it was added, who added the it, and its intended use.
- Required
- Turn on to indicate this field must have a value for every Group record. Warning: In practice, this is never turned on.
- Used for Duplicate Checking, Cohort Tracking, Sampling Priority, Episode Conditions, or Quarantine Rules

Leave this off unless this field is specifically needed for one of the named functions. This option slows database performance.
Important: After turning this on, run a backfill to apply this to all existing records. - Used for ACE
- Whether or not to include this field in reports generated by Medallia’s Anti-Cheating Engine.
- Internal
- Indicates the field is used for Medallia internal engineering purposes only. When an internal field is visible, it is for informational purposes only.
- PersistedInSurveyTable
- Never turn on! This type of field should never be persisted in surveys.
- SFGs affected
- DEPRECATED. This property is no longer used.
- AlternativeSet
- The type of data that can be stored in this field, such as Text, Email, or any enumerated set. Warning: Changing the Alternative Set clears the data for this field.
- Company
- DEPRECATED. This property is no longer used.
- TranslationExplanation
- An explanation of this field to assist translators when they are deciding how to translate this field. (For more infomration, see Localization.) This is rarely used; the default value is the Keyname with prepended 'u_'.
- To be translated
- Turn this property on to have unit groups translated. Important: You must also select the Enable Translation of Units and Unit Groups property in Company Settings for unit groups to appear on the Translations page.
