Data views

Data views (previously known as Permission contexts) allow admins to specify organization and segment data categories that can be used to define a user's data access based on the user's role. Data views can be used to target data access for a specific report or module, enabling use cases that include allowing users to see extended data sets for ranking or benchmarking and to see unified reports with several data sets at the same time.

Data access is determined by creating data views, assigning them to roles, and specifying data access categories. Selected data access values from data access categories will act as filters for what data a user will have access to see. By default, every new data view is required to have the same data access categories as the default data view for the role. The default Data view is typically the <Company Name> data view, which is the data view used by default in reports.

To use and access Data views, see Access Organization features.

Org and Segment data categories

Org Data Categories and Segment Data Categories are used across roles where the data view has been assigned. These data categories determine the data that can be assigned to users as well as the data that appears on reports with the associated data view. Org Data Categories define a category of unit groups (such as Category: Country Unit Group Values: Belgium, France). Segment Data Categories define a category of field values based on survey fields (for example, Survey Type).
