Opt-outs screen

The Opt-outs screen administers invitees who have ever opted-out of receiving email invitations from the company. Any invitee that has ever been opted-out is listed on this screen. Selecting a user in the list shows that user's opt-out record. For information about opt-outs, see Opt-outs.
- Click Save to apply the filter.
- Click Cancel to remove the filter settings, restore the default values, and update the list.
- You cannot further filter an already filtered list; you must first Cancel and the define new filter criteria.
Click Download the entire list of opt-out records for the company. Note that any filter settings are ignored.
Opt-out properties
Most of the opt-out properties are filter options for locating records.
- Search for opt-out value
- Filter for records having this string in the Opt-out value.

How to apply the Search for value. Either:
- Exact match — All of the string must be in the Opt-out field (
e_optout). - STARTS_WITH — The field value starts with the string.
- ENDS_WITH — The field value ends with the string.
- SUBSTRING — The string can be anywhere in the field value.
- Exact match — All of the string must be in the Opt-out field (
- Efield limit
- Filter for records that used this Event field for opt-out value. The list of fields is defined by Sampling Field Setups.
- Scope limit

Filter for records associate with this Unit group.
Note: Medallia Experience Cloud used to allow an invitee to opt-out and the record might be associated with a specific Unit group, such as a specific brand of store. However, the invitee would still receive email invitations from other brands owned by the same company. Currently, when an invitee opts-out the record always defaults to All of the company's Units, regardless of the Unit group the invitee interacted with. - Status limit

Filter for opt-out status. Either:
- None — All statuses (default).
- Opted in — Customers who have been opted-in: are able to receive email invitations.
- Opted out — Customers who will not receive invitations.
- Result limit

Filter the count of records to show in the list. Either:
- First 100 (default).
- First 1000.
- First 10000.
- All.
- Opt-out efield
- View only property. Field that identifies this customer for opt-out. This is usually the invitee's email address, though might be phone number for SMS surveys.
- Opt-out value
- View only property. Value of the Opt-out efield associated with the selected invitee record, usually the invitee's email address.
- Opt-out scope
- View only property. Unit group (Scope limit) associated with the selected invitee record.
- Opt-out reason
- View only property. Reason or medium respondents use for opting out. These include:

Customer clicked opt-out link in Invitation email — Respondent opted-out by clicking the opt-out link from the Invitation or Reminder email.

Tech support opts customer out — Medallia Experience Cloud technical support opted the respondent out from all surveys, no matter the Company.

Added from system setup — Respondent opted-out by the opt-out manually configure in Medallia Setup.

Imported from external source — Respondent opted-out using an Auto Importer file.

System opts customer out — Obsoleted. Opt-out applied to a Unit group.

Auto-opt out — Opt-out performed based on an opt-out rule.

Client opted out through an investigator action — Used for Medallia Conversations. Respondent opted-out using the investigation action.

Client opted out through List-Unsubscribe — Respondent opted out by clicking the Unsubscribed link in the email client, which sends an email to unsubscribe the respondent.

- Log
- View only property. Shows when the invitee was added to the Opt-out list, and also any subsequent opt-in or opt-out actions.
- Download full opt-out list (CSV)
- Downloads the complete list (no filtering) as a CSV text file.
