Exporting gathers Medallia records or analytics report data and converts it into formatted data to be read externally or loaded into external applications. This data is typically used in additional data analysis, quality assurance, and integration with external systems. For example, an export might be a list of customers who have opted out of receiving survey invitations. Exports can be delivered to an external system automatically on a regular schedule, or they can be manually downloaded by a user or admin.

Exporters define how and when to export data, and they define the format of the exported data. Medallia has two general kinds of exporters:

• Export specifications run either on schedule or when requested by a User. Use these exporters to "batch" the export process, and to allow users to download report data directly from the report presentation.
  Tip: Users viewing a report can use the Download PDF option to download a graphical image of a report form.
• Omni Exporter specifications run when records are created or updated, though they can optionally run on a schedule too. Use Omni Export when you need to synchronize Medallia data to an external system.
  Note: Work with your Medallia expert to set up Omni Exporters to synchronize Medallia Experience Cloud records with data stored in external systems.
