Medallia Web reportingAccessibility enables users with disabilities to customize text and background colors for easier interaction with Medallia Alchemy Experience Reporting reports, ensuring equal success for all users. Accessibility options meet the standards provided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). For more information, see the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Overview on the World Wide Web Consortium website.

To open the Accessibility editor mode, select Accessibility from the User settings menu:

The editor opens into a side panel on the right. All settings and preferences are saved for future sessions.

High-contrast mode property

When your company is using Medallia Alchemy Experience Reporting, users can enable a high-contrast theme that affects the text in report modules. The high-contrast theme enhances readability for individuals with moderately low vision who do not use contrast-enhancing assistive technology.

Note: This theme provides high contrast between text and the background only. It does not affect report module visualizations or color heat maps.

To enable or disable High-contrast mode, toggle between On and Off. This image shows a report with the high-contrast mode enabled:

Color overrides properties

Select Color Overrides to start overriding text and background colors properties. When selected, the side panel expands and shows three tabs which correspond to different sections on the page:

  • Light UI — Refers to text in areas against a white background. This image shows the main dashboard in this section.

  • Dark UI — Refers to text in areas against a darker background. This image shows the dark themed navigation and Medallia Web reporting toolbar.

  • Panel UI — Refers to text in areas on a light grey background. This image shows the Accessibility side panel.

Under each tab, to set the color of the text or background in each property, either:

  • Click each colored circle, and then select the color of your preference, or
  • Enter a valid color hex code.

You can see all changes as you work. To save those changes, click Save.

Important: Any of the Color Override settings in Accessibility overrides predefined color palettes set in Application branding.

Reset colors

To reset all your selections to the default values, click Reset All. If the High Contrast Mode is enabled, the color properties reset to the colors determined by this mode.

To reset one particular color property, click Redo icon. reset next to the color picker.

Font Colors
These properties determine the font color for:
  • Headings — A title text on the page.
  • Subheadings — A secondary tittle on the page.
  • Body Text — The text that forms the majority of the content on the page.
  • Descriptive text — The descriptive text included in placeholders or timestamps.
  • Hyperlinks — The text included in hyperlinks within blocks of text.
  • Inverse Text — The text on dark colored background such as buttons.
Button Colors
These properties determine the font color for both primary or Constructive buttons, such as the Save button, and the Destructive buttons, such as Delete. Click View Example to see how the button looks like.
Background Colors
These properties determine the background color for:
  • Container — Primary background color for most sections of text.
  • Canvas — Form inputs and user interfaces.
  • Highlight — Highlighted, hovered, and active elements.
    Note: Consider these configuration for branding:

    • If you have a light branding theme, the Container property in the Light UI tab controls the background color.

    • If you have a customized brand color, when you select the Color Overrides property, the customized brand color is overridden and the theme value is used instead. You may customize the background through the Light UI or Dark UI tab depending on the branding theme your company is using.

    • If you have a background image, when you select the Color Overrides property, the background image is overridden and the them value is used instead. You may customize the background through the Light UI or Dark UI tab depending on the branding theme your company is using.
