Create and manage interaction points

Learn how to create and manage your interaction points in MXO.

Create an interaction point (main UI)

To create an interaction point from the main UI, follow these steps:

  1. In MXO, go to Collect > Interaction Points.

  2. Select the touchpoint to which you want to add an interaction point from the drop-down menu in the top left corner of the page.

  3. Click + Create.

  4. Enter the following details for your interaction point:

    FieldDescription
    Interaction Point NameName for the interaction point.
    Interaction Point PathThe path for the interaction point. On a web site, this is the path appended to the main website URI that identifies an individual page. For example, for the page https://permalink.thunderhead.com/global/support, you would enter /support.
    Customers on this Interaction Point will have Verified statusOptional. Select this checkbox if you want customers on this interaction point to be considered verified.

  5. Click Create to finish the creation process.

Create an interaction point (MXO extension)

To create an interaction point from MXO's extension, follow these steps:

  1. Browse to the page on your website where you want to create your interaction point.

  2. Enable MXO's extension and ensure it is in Edit mode.

  3. On the toolbar, click Create Interaction Point.

  4. Provide a name and a path for your interaction point.

  5. Optionally, select this checkbox if you want customers on this interaction point to be considered verified.

  6. Click Save to finish the creation process.

Edit an interaction point

To edit an interaction point, follow these steps:

  1. In MXO, go to Collect > Interaction Points.

  2. Select the touchpoint for which you want to edit an interaction point from the drop-down menu.

  3. Find the desired interaction point in the list and click edit icon Edit.

  4. Edit the interaction point as required.

  5. Click Save to finish the editing process.

View interaction point dependencies

To see a list of the dependencies associated with an interaction point, follow these steps:

  1. In MXO, go to Collect > Interaction Points.

  2. Select the touchpoint for which you want to edit an interaction point from the drop-down menu.

  3. Find the desired interaction point in the list and click dependencies icon Dependencies.

  4. In the modal window that appears, you can see the list of dependencies for that interaction point. You may click any dependency to open it in a new window and edit or remove it. Then, click Refresh to reload the dependencies list.

  5. Click Ok in the modal window to close it.

Delete an interaction point

To delete an interaction point, follow these steps:

  1. In MXO, go to Collect > Interaction Points.

  2. Select the touchpoint for which you want to edit an interaction point from the drop-down menu in the top left corner of the page.

  3. Find the desired interaction point in the list and click delete icon Delete.

  4. If the interaction point is associated with one or more entities, the modal window that appears will show the dependencies list and block the deletion process. Access each dependency and remove the association before deleting the interaction point. Then, click Refresh to reload the dependencies list and ensure you have removed them all.

  5. Click Delete to complete the deletion process.
