Adding a comment to a session replay

1. Pause a session replay at the point where you want to add a comment.
2. On the area you want to comment on, hold the left mouse button and drag the cursor to create a pink box, then let go.

   The area you want to comment on is highlighted in pink and an Add a comment box appears on the left-hand side of the screen.

3. In Add a comment, enter your comment.
   Note: You can @mention other users to alert them to the comment.
4. Click Submit.

   The comment is added.

   Note: You can add multiple comments to any point in a session replay.
   

Once your comment has been added, a yellow bar will be added to the timeline at the top of the screen. When viewing this session replay, you can click on this bar to be taken to the part of the replay where the comment is, where the journey will pause.

All of the comments in the replay will also display in the Comments panel on the left-hand side. You can click the right-arrow button to the right of a relevant comment to go to where the comment was made in the session.

When clicking the right-arrow button to see a comment and the area that has been highlighted, you will also be able to see any replies to the comment, as well as replying yourself. To reply to a comment, you can simply enter any text in the Reply to comment box before clicking Submit.

Editing session replay comments

You can edit a session replay comment by locating the relevant comment, either using the yellow bar in the replay timeline or from the Comments panel, clicking the right-arrow button.

From here you can simply click the gear button to change your comment, and you can also move the highlighted area of the replay by clicking and dragging the cross in the top left hand corner of the highlighted area, while you can also increase the size of this area by clicking and dragging the bottom-right corner of the red highlighted area.

Deleting session replay comments

You can delete a session replay comment by locating the relevant comment, either using the yellow bar in the replay timeline or from the Comments panel, clicking the right-arrow button.

From here, simply click the trashcan button to remove your comment from the replay, before clicking Yes to confirm.

Filtering by commented session replays

You can filter by session replays from the Sessions list by clicking the Filters dropdown menu and ticking Show commented replays. Sessions that have comments will have a blue speech bubble icon in the Session column. You can hover over this icon to see the date of the last comment, along with the last user to comment on it.
