Migrate to integration version 2
Medallia Experience Cloud integration v2 is the gold standard in Digital Feedback management and analysis. Leverage the vast capabilities of Medallia Experience Cloud combined with the self-service flexibility of Digital Feedback. Note that the majority of customers are already on the Medallia Experience Cloud v2 integration, if you are uncertain about your current status please see the FAQ for further guidance.
Comparing Digital integration versions
The different versions of Digital provide different levels of integration into Medallia Experience Cloud.
Architecture
The architecture of Digital V1 was:
Manual integration of Digital survey feedback with Experience Cloud
Reliant on ongoing Medallia Professional Services hours to maintain and update Auto Importer
Unable to create new questions without Medallia Professional Services effort
Medallia Professional Services hours always needed to launch new surveys
The architecture of Digital V2 is:
Automatic integration of Digital survey feedback with Experience Cloud
Similar UX to build and target Digital surveys
Create new surveys and edit existing surveys without Medallia Professional Services intervention
Benefits of Digital V2
A Digital V2 property has these changes to survey building:
Enhanced self-service capabilities. Create surveys end-to-end and launch them at the right moment, all without a Digital Expert
Built-in reusable question library
Create new questions directly within Digital
Answer options automatically linked to field selection
A Digital V2 property has changes to reporting and program management:
- Reports available in the Medallia Experience Cloud
Enhanced control over data flow
No Auto Importer management
Ad-hoc reporting dashboards automatically created and updated for every survey based on questions. These are found under the Published and Unpublished buttons.
The Responses Detail view combines all survey questions, similar to Digital Inbox feature
Functional differences
When a property is migrated to version 2, some Digital functionality from version 1 is replaced with functionality in Medallia Experience Cloud.
- The Digital Inbox and Reports are replaced with Experience Cloud Responses reports. During migration all previous feedback in the Digital parts is imported into Experience Cloud and can be viewed under the Feedback tab. See Reporting in Experience Cloud.
- The Digital Dashboard is replaced with Experience Cloud based dashboards created for every survey. These dashboards provide insights for your general program (via the Overview tab) and additionally a form-by-form analysis that can be accessed via the form name under the Published and Unpublished tabs.
- Manage users and their capabilities in the Admin suite. See Managing users in Experience Cloud.
- Digital apps support version 2.
- Tagging is not possible in Experience Cloud, please consult with your Medallia Expert regarding alternative approaches.
- Digital Smart reply is replaced by auto reply in Experience Cloud.
- Digital Real-time alerts for feedback are replaced by alerts in Experience Cloud.
- Exports can be managed via the Experience Cloud export capability or reach out to your Medallia Partner
- The Feedback API integration is deprecated. We recommend using the Medallia Query API. See your Medallia expert for additional information.
Note that the Experience Cloud integration does not relate to Digital Survey Form 2.0. However upgrading is strongly recommended.
