Create opt-outs screen
Feedback > Surveying > Inviting > Create Opt-out
The Create Opt-out screen manually opts an invitee out from receiving future email invitations from the company. When manually creating an opt-out record from this screen, no survey records are altered: the Opt-out field (e_optout) does not change.
To opt-out an invitee
- Click New.
- Choose the E-field that contains the specific customer-identifying information.
- Enter the value that identifies the customer: usually their email address.
- Chose the Unit Group (scope) that applies to the customer. Always choose the most global group for the entire company, such as "All Company Units".
- Click Save to create the opt-out record.
To view the record details, or to opt an invitee back in, use the Opt-outs screen.
See Opt-outs screen for an example of using the importer to rapidly create multiple opt-out records.
Create opt-outs screen properties
- Opt-out efield
- Field that identifies this invitee for opt-out. This is usually the invitee's email address, though might be phone number for SMS surveys. The list of fields is defined by Sampling Field Setups.
- Opt-out value
- Value of the Opt-out efield associated with the selected record, usually the invitee's email address.
- Opt-out scope
-
Unit Group associated with the selected record. Only email invitations from this Unit group are excluded from email invitations, which means that the invitee can still receive emails from other Unit groups in the same company.
Tip: Always select the most global Unit group for the entire company unless there is a specific business case otherwise. When invitees opt-out from future email invitations, they expect to be opted-out from all groups from the same company.
Opt-out tips
- When an invitee clicks the Opt-out link on a survey, the Opt-out field (
e_optout) in the survey record is set to 1 to indicate the invitee made the option from the link. - When manually creating an opt-out record, no survey records are altered: the Opt-out field does not change.
