Enable Crowdicity SSO

Enabling Medallia Ideas SSO allows Medallia Web reporting to access a company's Ideas instance for the purpose of sharing data.

Restriction: This activity requires Internal Admin role to access or complete. For assistance, contact your Medallia expert.

Ideas sign-in screen with the Medallia Web reporting sign-in screen.

Before you begin

From the Ideas administrator, acquire the URI where Medallia Experience Cloud will send the OAuth token. This is the Redirect URIs for client setting in Experience Cloud.

Configure Experience Cloud

Follow these steps to configure Ideas in Experience Cloud:

  1. Sign in to the Medallia Web reporting instance using an account that has Internal Admin permission.

  2. In Setup, navigate to the Integrations > OAuth > Clients tab.

  3. Locate and select the medallia_crowdicity client.

  4. Enter values for these properties:

    Redirect URIs for clientThe Ideas URI where to send the OAuth token. Get this from the Ideas administrator. Include the https in the URI.
    Issuermedallia_crowdicity
    JWKS URI for client's public keysThe URL to the Ideas community, followed by /hubbub/awk, for example:

    https://demo.crowdicity.com/hubbub/jwk

  5. Click Save.

    Ignore this warning if it appears: Logged Error fetching keys from configured JWKS URI.

  6. Locate and select the medallia_crowdicity_sso client.

  7. Enter values for these properties:

    JWKS URI for client's public keysThe same URL you entered above — to the Ideas community, followed by /hubbub/awk, for example:

    https://demo.crowdicity.com/hubbub/jwk

  8. Click Save.

    Ignore this warning if it appears: Logged Error fetching keys from configured JWKS URI.

Configure Ideas

Follow these steps to configure Ideas:

  1. Sign in to Ideas.

  2. Locate the ADM for the community's region, and click the community's Go to <instance> link.

  3. Click Configuration.

  4. In the Open ID SSO panel, select MEC as the provider.

  5. For Provider Oauth URL enter the URL for the Medallia Web reporting instance, followed by with oauth, followed by the company name, for example https://demo.medallia.com/oauth/<company-name>.

  6. Click Save.

    After the page refreshes, the Open ID SSO panel should now say STATUS: SUCCESS at the bottom.

  7. Sign out of Ideas.

  8. Sign in to the Medallia Web reporting instance.

  9. Navigate to Medallia Admin Suite and verify the Crowdicity tile now appears on the available apps screen.

  10. Access the Ideas community.

The Ideas sign-in screen should now be replaced with the Medallia Web reporting sign-in screen.
