Profanity filtering

Role required: Customer Admin. See Video user roles.

Video profanity filter allows you to upload a list of words to censor in transcripts.

Note: The censor list only affects transcript outputs, not the audio content of media files.

A profane word is set at the customer level, affecting all video and audio transcripts in the customer group. It applies to human transcriptions and Speech-to-text transcripts, but not to Text Alignment or Subtitle uploads.

Note: Profanity filtering applies to transcripts uploaded after adding profane words. To filter earlier transcripts, manually edit the transcript to trigger reprocessing.

Note: Each language's profane word list can contain up to 1000 words.

Permissions:

Customer Admin users can export the censored and original transcripts via the Data Export feature. Other users can only export censored transcripts.
Note: If subtitles are used in showreels, they will display the censored transcript, replacing profane words with asterisks. Note that Media content remains uncensored.
