Upgrading VIS
Use the following steps to upgrade your VoiceXML Interaction Server (VIS) installation.
Prepare to upgrade
- Download the new VIS.war file and stage a copy on each VIS server
- Back up the Apache Tomcat Directory at the following location:

- Stop the Apache Tomcat service
- Delete the current VIS.war file and VIS folder located in the Apache/Tomcat/webapps folder:
- Delete all contents of the Tomcat/work/catalina/locahost folder. This folder contains Tomcat cache, so it is not necessary to back up these files beforehand.
Install the new version
- Place the new VIS.war file into the webapps folder. Ensure the VIS.war file has the same name as the file being replaced.
- Start the Apache Tomcat service
Verify the installation
- Open the new Catalina log in the Tomcat/logs folder. Search for "Creating Toolkit Stub Version" to ensure the new version is reflected:
