AppID Accounts
Integration > Security > OAuth > AppID Accounts
AppID or Service accounts are accounts that have access to Medallia Experience Cloud, but which are not associated with any particular user. These accounts are primarily assigned to applications (OAuth Clients) that access Experience Cloud APIs. This list of accounts appears in the Client subject property on the Clients screen.
- Account Name
- Name of the service account. This name must be unique across all AppID Accounts and all Users accounts, and it cannot start with an underscore ('_'). This is the name that appears in the Client subject property on the Clients screen.
- Account Type
- Type of account:
-
System — Medallia Experience Cloud internal account. All system account names begin with "medalli_app_". These accounts are only available to internal administrators.
-
Custom — All other accounts.
-
- Enabled
- Whether or not the account is active. An inactive account may not access the system. Access tokens are not issued to inactive accounts. Inactivating an account causes all applications using this account to lose access the next time they need a access token.
- Role
- The role this account belongs to, and which determines the data this account may access. For more information, see Roles.
- Default Access
- Default access permissions for this account when using the above role. The account inherits the permissions globally assigned to the role.
After saving a new account, you can override the role permissions by clicking the Edit button. Any changes will be shown in this section after the account is saved. When in the editor, next to each option is the count of surveys and invitations the user will (currently) have access to based on the selections made.
See Roles, permissions, and capabilities for a complete discussion of this setting, and about how permissions affect access control.
