Source URLs
Each available social source requires you to provide specific URLs for Social Feedback to retrieve the feedback data from. URLs are the web addresses from a particular source that contain the social feedback you want to collect associated to particular unit.
To configure a Source URL, you must go through Social sources and units screen first.
Bulk upload
To simultaneously add several URLs and associate them to units, take into account that:

Automatic discovery
During Automatic discovery, Medallia Social Feedback automatically finds the web addresses (URLs) of the social media sites (sources) for each unit and associates them with the appropriate canonical property.
Initially, the names and URLs for each canonical property are sent to the Google Search API (or Google Places API for Google locations if no URLs are provided), which attempts to identify the relevant social source for each unit. Source discovery triggers automatically, with a given threshold based on source priority.
For more information, see Source discovery .
Follow these steps to run the Automatic discovery:
-
Click Assign URLs and select Automatic discovery.
-
Select the Data fields (
u_field) that contains the Unit name that matches the location name that appears in Google Maps. This is only needed in case you need to refer to a different Unit field for the real Google Maps location name so that we can unequivocally find the correct location.Important: The selected Data field only impacts the current discovery process and does not updates the field selected in Units. -
Enter the email address to notify when the discovery finishes.
-
Click Run discovery.
-
At the top of the screen, on the information banner, click Review changes.
-
Based on the review results, click either Discard changes or Update URLs. Select Download the detailed processing report for a complete analysis.
If updating URLs, processing may take a while; confirm you want to start processing by clicking Yes.
