Customize Medallia Mobile
The default appearance and behavior of Medallia Mobile is sufficient for most companies. Some of the appearance can be customized, and some of the behavior needs to be defined for the app. For more information about customizing Medallia Mobile through Medallia Setup, see Mobile Cross-Platform.
Main Score (summary score) and Main Subject
Nearly all responses tracked in Medallia Experience Cloud reporting have a main score field that is considered an overall or summary score for a response. In Medallia Mobile the score appears in several places, including the responses list and at the top of the response view.
Experience Cloud chooses a Main Score field in this order:
- OverallScoreField on the Feedback > Social Media > Social Feedback screen. If this is not configured, Medallia Mobile uses...
-
The field defined in the Main Score module of the Responses Form report visible to the Medallia Mobile user. For example:
For users that do not have a Main Score module configured, Medallia Mobile uses...
- The MainScoreField configured on the Company > Profile > Company Settings screen.
- If none of the above are configured, no score is shown.
Note the specified field type must enumerated with at least one numeric alternative. Otherwise, Experience Cloud skips using that field.
Medallia Mobile uses colors to provide a quick visual indication of the score. The default colors can be changed for custom colors that fit the company's style. For more information, see Mobile Cross-Platform.
The Main Subject is an optional, secondary field you can configure to display additional information about the response, such as a unit name or the type of survey.
For more information, see Responses reports.
How fields are populated in Medallia Mobile
Build reports specifically for Medallia Mobile in Medallia Admin Suite, starting at the Mobile Navigation screen.
If a Name field is not configured in a Responses report module, Medallia Mobile uses this Name field (a_fullname).
By default, the date displayed is based on the time field defined for the role viewing the reports. Users can select a different time field if you have allowed this as part of filtering. For more information, see Time Fields.
The Responses Form Survey Subject standard report module in Setup specifies what field to use for the primary unit displayed in Medallia Mobile.
Medallia Mobile does not display machine-translated text in comment fields. That text is shown in its native language. For more information, see Translating comments.
Supported dashboard modules and reports
Medallia Mobile supports Responses reports, which are displayed on the Feedback tab.
A subset of the full library of dashboard modules is available to be configured for Medallia Mobile from the Mobile Navigation screen in Admin Suite. For more information, see Medallia Mobile Navigation
Mobile dashboards support these modules:
-
Dial.
-
Important: If you are using Mobile Hybrid mode, all Medallia Web reporting reporting modules are displayed in the dashboard.
For information about creating dashboards, see Dashboards.
Use hyperlinks and text boxes in dashboards
If you want to provide hyperlinks from a dashboard in Medallia Mobile, use the Data Input module, and specify the target URL in the Survey URL property. For example, you might want to link directly from a dashboard to a training page, or to a blog for corporate announcements.
If you need a simple text box in a dashboard, such as a header for a dashboard, use the Data Input module. Specify your text (or Markup) in the Text to Display property, turn on the Disable Icon property, and ensure than the Survey URL property is empty.
Hide sensitive data in Medallia Mobile
Many users are able to view sensitive data in Medallia Web reporting, particularly in Responses Form reports. However, some companies do not want users to be able to see that sensitive data when using Medallia Mobile. To meet this need, create duplicate roles for these users, with one role having permission to see reports in Medallia Web reporting and the other role having permission to see reports in Medallia Mobile. Assign the first role to reports showing sensitive data in Medallia Web reporting (such as Responses Form), and assign the second role to the Medallia Mobile versions of those reports. Lastly, remove sensitive data from the Medallia Mobile version of the report. With roles properly assigned, users see sensitive data when signing in through Medallia Web reporting, and do not see sensitive data when signing in through Medallia Mobile.
For more information , see Roles and Sensitive data.
Notifications
Notifications appear in the app when one or more new responses the user is watching are made available to reporting. Notifications works when the user is logged into the application.
- Unit-level users always have a single watch auto-selected for all responses for their own unit.
- Unit group-level users can create watches that each represent individual units or unit groups. The user then receives notifications each time a response arrives for any of the watched units or groups.
-
When on, the Escalated alerts property for any watched unit or unit group triggers a notification when the status of any alert for that unit or unit group changes to OVERDUE, ESCALATED, or ESCALATED2. When the Escalated alerts property is off, those changes in alert status do not trigger notifications.
By default, all of the units and unit groups a user has access to see appear in that user's Watching List. To limit the segments to only those appearing in the user's control panel, open the Reporting > Report Helpers > Optionbox Settings > Optionbox Settings screen, and turn on the Restrict Watchlist to Segment Filters property. For more information about properties on the Optionbox Settings screen, see Optionbox settings.
