Pull topic and sentiment data into MXO

How to import topic hierarchies from MEC and start ingesting MEC data.

After you have made the connection with MEC, you can import the topic hierarchies.

  1. Select Configure > Topics

  2. Click Sync Topics. This option imports every topic hierarchy from MEC and converts them into a single hierarchy for usage in MXO.
    Note: If the Sync Topics button is not available, check that your MEC connection was established.

After topics have synced, you can scroll through to see all of the topic hierarchies that were pulled from MEC. Click Refresh Topics to re-sync topic hierarchies from MEC. This is important if you have made changes since last importing topic hierarchies.

Important: If a topic that is being used in an eligibility rule is deleted on MEC side, you will not be able to refresh the MXO topic hierarchy list until you decouple that topic from the eligibility rule containing it.

You cannot edit or delete topic hierarchies from MXO. You can only edit these in MEC.

Cloud Sync

Once hierarchies have been imported, use Cloud Sync to connect to the MXO Interaction API to MEC. This facilitates the data transfer from MEC to MXO.
Restriction: This feature is only available for new MXO customers. Existing customers must use the Omni Exporter to transfer data from MEC to MXO.

Attribute Capture Points

Attribute capture points are automatically captured when the parameter a_topics_sentiments_tagged_original is passed in the request. For this to happen, ensure the Topic activity attribute is available in your workspace. New workspaces include this attribute by default. Existing customers must install the Activity Attribute Quick Start package to add it.

Once these elements are ready, you can start analyzing customer journeys with dynamic audiences and personalizing customer experiences with the Propositions and Topics Information data adapters.
