Scores

When using Gamification, users receives points for interacting in the community. The count of points awarded depends on the activity.

Note: Badges can also award points. See Create a badge for details about how many, if any, points a badge awards.

Score values

Score values determine how many points are awarded for a user activity or badge

Medallia Ideas provides default values for activities and statue labels. Use this task to change the defaults, or to assign scores to badges.

Important: Changing score values recalculates the total points awarded to all users who have been awarded points for the associated scores. When this task is complete, user rankings in the Leaderboard may change.

Go to Admin Setup > Gamification > Score value.
Change individual score values, or reset them all to the default values.
Choose one.
- To change individual score values:
  1. Enter a new Value for each activity, badge, or status label to change.
  2. Click Save changes.
- To reset scores:
  1. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Reset these score values to defaults.
A progress indicator appears during the recalculating of user scores. The process happens in the background, and can take several minutes to over an hour for large communities.

When finished the Score status reports All scores are up to date.
