User points

Users are awarded points for interacting with the community. The count of points awarded depend on the Score values assigned to the activities. A user's total points determines the user's rank in the community.

View and edit user points

View a user's awards, and optionally remove them individually from the total

The Score history lists all of the points a user has been awarded. You can remove an award from the user's total, and you can restore a previously removed award.
  1. Go to Admin Setup > User Management > Manage Users.

  2. Locate the user.
  3. Click the user's Score option.

  4. Click the Score history tab.
    The history lists the scores awarded for All Challenges. Limit the list to see the scores for a specific challenge with the Show score history for filter.

  5. Optional: Change a score.
    Move the pointer over an event to remove or add it to the user's total score.
    • To remove a score from the total, click Remove this score.

    • To restore a score and include it in the total, click Restore this score.

Any changes to the awards are immediately reflected in that user's total.

Reset a user's score

Reset a user's scores to zero (0).

You can reset all of a user's scores, or all of them except for the ones awarded by Badges. Changing a user's scores adjusts their community rank accordingly. For more information on points, user scores and gamification please see Gamification.
  1. Go to Admin Setup > User Management > Manage Users.

  3. Click the user's Score option.

  4. Click the Reset Score tab.

  5. Optional: Provide a date and time to assign to the activity.
    Skip this step to use the default, which is the date/time of your computer when you opened this dialog.
  6. Select the Reset type.

    FullResets all scores to zero (0).
    PartialResets all scores except badges; scores awarded for badges are not reset.
  7. Click Reset user score and confirm the action.
    When the reset finishes, the Edit user scores dialog reports the date/time when the user's score was reset.
The dialog reports each time the scores were reset. You can undo the latest reset action and restore the scores by clicking Undo next to the timestamp.

Reset every user's score

Reset all users' scores to zero (0).

You can reset all of the scores, or all of them except for the ones awarded by Badges. Changing scores adjusts everyone's community rank accordingly. For more information on points, user scores and gamification please see Gamification.
  1. Go to Admin Setup > Gamification > Score value.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page until you see the Save changes button.

  3. Click Reset everyone's score to zero.

  4. Optional: Provide a date and time to assign to the activity.
    Skip this step to use the default, which is the date/time of your computer when you opened this dialog.
  5. Select the Reset type.
