Digital Experience Analytics Browser Extension

The Digital Experience Analytics (DXA) browser extension for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox provides additional functionality for DXA and is required for some heatmap and session replay functionality.

Installing the DXA browser extension

In Google Chrome:

  1. On the DXA page in the Chrome Web Store, click Add to Chrome.Add "Decibel"? window

  2. Click Add extension.

    The DXA browser extension is installed in Google Chrome.
  3. Refresh your browser.

You can now use all heatmap and session replay functionality in Google Chrome.

In Mozilla Firefox:

  1. In Decibel, click Install extension.

  2. Click Continue to Installation and follow the steps in Mozilla Firefox.

  3. Refresh your browser.

  4. Right-click the browser extension icon in the menu bar.

  5. In the menu that opens, select Always allow on portal.decibel.com.

When you access the heatmaps page after installing the browser extension, you will see a message that Firefox cannot open the page. To resolve this, complete the following steps:

  1. Right-click the browser extension icon in the menu bar.

  2. In the menu that opens, select Manage Extension.

  3. Select the Permissions tab. Turn on Allow your data for all websites. This option allows you to successfully load sites inside of iFrames for heatmaps.

  4. Refresh your browser.

You can now use all heatmap and session replay functionality in Mozilla Firefox.

Real-time DXS widget for DXA browser extension

The real-time DXS widget enhances the DXA browser extension to allow users with real-time DXS enabled on their accounts to view user Behaviors and corresponding scores in real time on your property.

To enable the real-time widget, go to the settings page for the DXS browser extension and select Enable realtime DXS widget.DXA browser extension real-time DXS widget settings

To display real-time DXS data on the developer console, select Logging Enabled.
