$(dom-selector).action() may not function correctly and could cause custom HTML to render improperly. jQuery is not available in instances not already using it. Release highlights
New or improved features
Admin Suite
In Admin Suite, you can no longer switch to the Legacy Report Builder from the modern Report Editor interface for reports that have been migrated to the new web dashboard experience. Standard Reports are unaffected; users can continue to view and edit standard reports using the Legacy Report Builder.
The following UI labels in Admin Suite related to Survey Emails have been renamed:
- 'Survey Emails' page accessible from the Admin Suite homepage, Admin Suite side panel, and Experience Programs is now named 'Distributions'.
- 'Email Templates' in Distributions page (formerly Survey Emails) is now named 'Templates'. For more information, see Templates.
- 'Distribution Settings' in Distributions page (formerly Survey Emails) is now named 'Rules'.
Admin Suite now has an AI-powered chatbot that answers questions using Medallia documentation and Knowledge base articles. Users with Do-Anything permission can use the assistant to troubleshoot and get help in context without leaving Admin Suite.
Restriction: This functionality is currently in Beta. During this early access period, clients in the Beta program can learn about, try out, and test this feature, and they can provide feedback about it. This stage allows Medallia to refine the feature's design before its general availability. Be aware that functionality may change before then.HTML modules are now optional for Ask Now, Ad Hoc, and regular survey programs on a per-survey-type basis. This flexibility is permission-based, allowing you to restrict HTML module usage to specific roles. For example, you can grant the access to the Core Admin team for Experience Programs while disabling the option for Insights users of Ad Hoc surveys.
HTML modules are available by default. If you wish to control their use, file a Support ticket to enable the option.
The Activity Log app is now available in Admin Suite for users with Do-Anything permission. The Activity Log combines Change Log and Security Log data into a single CSV export.
Restriction: This functionality is currently in Beta. During this early access period, clients in the Beta program can learn about, try out, and test this feature, and they can provide feedback about it. This stage allows Medallia to refine the feature's design before its general availability. Be aware that functionality may change before then.
Ask Now
Ask Now users can now duplicate Ask Nows, making it easier to create new Ask Nows that are similar to past or existing Ask Nows. Note the new Ask Now uses the same question fields as the original Ask Now, as such, changes made to a duplicated question appear in both places.
Improved the performance of Ask Now pages for survey takers when there are over 100,000 units in the instance.
The 'Custom' Target Audience in the Distribution & Audience section is now named 'Selected survey takers from parent surveys' and is now the default selection. 'The All survey takers from the parent survey' is still available in the dropdown selector.
Ask Now now has a limit of 20 questions: you cannot create new Ask Nows with more than 20 questions. Active Ask Nows with over 20 questions remain active as-is. But, you can no longer activate existing Ask Nows that have over 20 questions.
You can no longer use Unit Types (e_unitid) in conditions in the Questions step of Ask Now. To use units to condition Ask Now questions in the Questions step, store units in a separate E-field and use that field to set the conditions.
Conversations
For Custom Channels using OAuth 2.0, a new configurable Scope field allows Admins to define granular permissions (e.g., read:surveys) rather than using broad "master key" access. The new and optional Enforce Scope option makes the field mandatory for strict production environments. When the option is not defined, the default remains backwards compatible by omitting the parameter from the API request.
The obsolete Distribution, Segments, Intentions, and Scheduling features have been disabled and removed from the Conversations user interface and functionality.
Feedback
Smart Response Templates now support configurable salutation and signature settings, allowing customers to define custom greetings and sign-offs directly within templates. These settings can be customized to align with brand communication preferences, enabling more consistent and personalized smart responses.
Smart Responses are now generated based on the a_survey_language field for score-only (no-comment) scenarios for any supported language such as English, Spanish, German, French and more. For unsupported languages, Smart Responses default to English, ensuring uninterrupted availability of the feature for score-only (no-comment) scenarios.
The Feedback Response Editor within the Responses Form and Responses Feed modules has been upgraded to deliver a more modern, performant, and extensible editing experience. The upgrade also introduces enhanced formatting capabilities, providing a more consistent and cohesive user experience.
Integrations
All processing reports generated from Web Feeds using Concurrent Asynchronous processing will now be deleted after 90 days.
Medallia Web
You can now create Action Plans with impact tracking from the Scores Over Time module and from scratch with no module needed.
Reporting
Medallia Insights Assistant is a conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI) interface built directly into Medallia Experience Cloud. It answers open-ended business questions about customers omnichannel experience data and accelerates complex data analysis using natural language prompt.
Restriction: This feature is only available in Sandboxes and for a limited set of initial instances. Full availability will be made in a future release. The Text Analytics Segment Ranker Topics/Themes Reporting Module is enabled to expose data to the Insights Assistant genAI agent based on requested queries. Valid queries returning role permitted data provide the agent with information to format and return to the user.
Segmentation for Customer TX Profiles is now generally available. Users on Postgres who wish to use segmentation must contact Support for Elastic search provisioning.
- Rapid Response Rate Limiting — To ensure platform stability and fair usage, Rapid Responses are subject to a default limit of 30,000 responses per instance per day. Once this limit is reached, users see an error message and are unable to generate additional responses until the limit resets the next day. This limit is configurable and can be adjusted. Contact your Medallia representative for assistance with modifying the threshold.
Insights Assistant Agent Instructions are now available in Admin Suite. This allows administrators to define natural language instructions and context for the Insights Assistant agent behavior at the user role level, ensuring responses are tailored, consistent, and relevant to specific organizational needs. Admins can use this feature to:
- Prioritize specific metrics or segments to ensure role-specific answers.
- Enforce formatting and behavioral constraints to align outputs with business requirements.Restriction: This feature is only available in Sandboxes and for a limited set of initial instances. Full availability will be made in a future release.Restriction: This feature is not available on Medallia GovCloud. For more information, contact your Medallia representative.
The Scores Snapshot module now has an option to hide empty columns when configuring segments.
Speech
Medallia Speech has new standard metadata fields. See the documentation for a complete list of the new fields. Highlights include general ASR Start and End timestamps to understand ASR processing time on each record, and the granular Emotion and Sentiment fields to give more insight into our Acoustic Emotion scoring.
Medallia Speech now supports Norwegian, Turkish, and Slovak via Amazon Transcribe. These new supported languages are available for use with both the Speech API and Speech Connectors when Amazon Transcribe is selected as the ASR engine.
Medallia Speech now provides an API endpoint for importing transcripts without using Auto Importer. It works like the existing Speech API endpoint but does not import audio files. Use it when you already have transcripts from another source, such as your CCaaS system, so you can import transcripts with less configuration and manage your own integration.
Surveys
Export Translations now has improved performance and usability. A new interface introduces a clean modal design with a clearer layout. This update also includes background downloading for faster processing. When a download is triggered, a new tracking window displays the progress in real-time, allowing navigation away from the page without interrupting the process. Once complete, the files are securely stored and accessible at any time within the Translation Exports section.
OA-31674: Quick Start now prevents auto-save requests from being triggered by email clients, link-preview bots, and security scanners (e.g. Microsoft ATP) that open survey links without human interaction. This should eliminate ghost auto-save submissions. The feature uses a two-layer approach:
Automated traffic detection: Identifies known email clients and security scanners that open survey links and blocks auto-save immediately.
Interaction gating: For unrecognized visitors, auto-save only fires after a real user interaction (click, scroll, keypress, etc.) instead of firing automatically on page load.
This feature will be enabled across all instances staring in July 2026 through August 2026.
Text Analytics
Smart Topic Builder now prompts TA Admins to complete a Topic Set Description before initiating any new Topic Discovery workflows. This helps guarantee the highest possible relevance in the AI's output. The Topic Set Definition requires the following inputs to anchor the AI's understanding:
- Audience: Defines the specific internal persona or team consuming the topic analysis (e.g., the Marketing Team).
- Use Case / Intention: Clarifies the goals for the Topic Set, such as customer retention efforts or prioritizing local store actions based on feedback.
- Additional Data Context (optional): Provides general information about the dataset, distinguishing between sources like customer support call transcriptions versus digital feedback verbatims.
- Excluded Concepts (optional): Explicitly states which concepts should be ignored by the AI for this specific topic set.
Topic Builder now displays limits for Text Analytics entities (topics, rules, rule elements, word groups, and segments). TA Admins can see their current usage in real time and compare it to these limits. This visibility helps them keep configurations clean and maintainable, while avoiding unexpected errors or workflow issues. These guardrails help ensure the system runs smoothly and reliably.
- We have refined how our system determines the language used for processing feedback. This update gives you more control over data accuracy by prioritizing your specified settings over automatic detection.
- Primary Logic: If a_survey_language is explicitly set, the system uses that language for processing all comments and responses within that record.
- Smart Fallback: If no language is specified, the system automatically detects the language and stores it in a_detected_language to ensure no data is left unprocessed.
Note: In the rare case that no language is set and the system cannot detect the language, the record is marked with TAGGING_FAILED, and no tags are generated.
Translations
Translations file export process now runs in the background, allowing users to navigate away from the page while the file generates. Access the completed files at any time under Translations Export option now available in Admin Suite under "Translations".
Resolved issues
Admin Suite
The Assign Report screen in Web Navigation now loads efficiently by filtering reports by type and role, resolving load failures for instances with a high volume of reports.
Topic Builder now removes the filter when the last comment evaluation is removed.
Topic Builder no longer shows incorrect error message to some admins when opening Topic Builder.
Ask Now
Ask Now no longer updates changed questions in live surveys before the changes are published. Changes are now only applied after the changes are published.
Sentiment highlighting now displays correctly in the comment stream on Ask Now test results.
Integrations
The system now outputs improved warnings when insecure configurations for importer and exporter processes are found.
Reporting
The Invitation Form now correctly displays all values for multi-value fields instead of only the first value.
Recent Responses now correctly displays all values for multi-value fields instead of only the first value.
Action Plan timezones now respect a user's browser timezone settings to better align with how the rest of Experience Cloud reporting handles them.
Exporting a PDF from the 'Feedback - Response Detail' page when navigating from the Notification Center now works every time.
The number of records column in Module Builder now applies locale-appropriate number formatting.
Video transcripts in Responses Detail now display with correct spacing between sentences.
Root Cause Assist now displays correctly after expanding and closing the side panel.
The Search Help text in the Feedback List now correctly references "OR and NOT" as supported logical operators, instead of the incorrect "OR and TO."
Removed a banner with an incorrect error message from the TX Profiles Contact List for users who have both VIEWALLCONTACTS and the recency filter enabled.
Ranking order module now shows correct scale for average values that are greater than the length of the axis.
The TA Topics/Themes Snapshot module now displays a clear configuration error message when a theme tag pool is misconfigured, instead of silently defaulting to an unsupported "all tag pools" option that could produce incorrect results.
Fixed incorrect benchmark results shown in benchmark over time module that shown incorrect results due to hardcoded dateField.
Percentage data point labels in the Segment Distribution Over Time module now display on a single line when the dashboard language is set to Spanish, instead of wrapping across two lines due to the localized spacing around the % symbol.
Responses Feed PDF exports no longer include unexpected blank spaces between page breaks.
The Big Number module now displays a color band legend providing context for color-coded thresholds, ensuring users with low vision, color blindness, or screen readers can interpret data without relying on color alone.
The Responses Feed now provides proper keyboard and screen reader support for expanding and collapsing the response toolbar.
The side panel close button on the Responses List page now remains visible while scrolling, so users can close the panel at any point without scrolling back to the top.
The comment stream now correctly applies text analytics highlighting to the processed language when comments are translated.
Comment question fields in Responses Forms now display the full text instead of being truncated.
The Statuses filter in General List now correctly displays available status options.
Permission checks are now enforced across all Query API aggregation operations. Previously custom calculations in the Query API
aggregate, aggregateList, aggregateRank, andaggregateRankListoperations could be invoked by roles that lacked permission to access those calculations.Segment filters using data-driven options with non-Survey data sets now correctly apply the reporting date override, instead of ignoring it and returning data from the wrong date context.
Dashboard ranking rows where multiple rows share the same ranked value, now sort alphabetically by label, ensuring consistent and predictable row ordering across queries.
Error handling in the Root Cause Analysis API in Reporting now shows only those details relevant to the error.
The Same Period Year Ago benchmark in Reporting now displays empty cells for future time periods where no data is available, instead of showing incomplete benchmark comparisons. This ensures consistent and reliable year-over-year comparisons when the selected time period extends into the future.
Navigating through the Contact List for TX Profiles now works as expected.
Fixed an issue where some customers were unable to see contacts in TX Profiles due to failed authentication for Elasticsearch.
TX Profiles and Account Profiles now maintain the integrity of the Experience Timeline as expected.
Surveys
Cookie banner: Fixed keyboard accessibility for scrollable content, corrected the "Cookie Notice" heading to follow proper semantic hierarchy, and improved support for users with cognitive disabilities and low vision using text spacing tools (e.g., Text Spacing Bookmarklet, Google Text Spacing Editor). Custom CSS or JavaScript targeting the banner's heading or layout may need review.
Keyboard navigation at 400% zoom: Improved Tab and Arrow key navigation for survey page elements on desktop at high zoom levels. Content alignment and DOM order in Ranking Order questions were adjusted, so custom CSS relying on element positioning or sibling/nth-child selectors may need review.
Rating scale and rating grid: Added
<label>and<legend>elements for Rating Scale questions with left-aligned labels, enabling screen readers to announce captions and supporting voice command activation. Restricted ARIA attributes on Rating Grid checkboxes to WCAG-compliant values only, improving screen reader clarity.Matrix: Added ARIA labels to text fields in Matrix questions to improve screen reader announcements and voice command navigation.
Dropdowns: Fixed a missing label in the mobile dropdown modal, making it consistent with the nested dropdown behavior. Extended right-to-left language support to regular and nested dropdown modals. Also, added ARIA role and keyboard support to the "Clear" button in searchable dropdowns for better screen reader and keyboard navigation. Added a translation string (
:LanguageTag::tag.survey.DROPDOWN_CLEAR_SELECTION) for the button's ARIA label to support localization.
