Step 1 — Provisioning Agile Research accounts

For new Medallia Experience Cloud customers, Medallia Agile Research will automatically be provisioned with Experience Cloud by default. The order form with the updated Experience Cloud Product Description includes Agile Research terms and conditions.

By default, all new accounts will have a new Agile Research Role BPP installed automatically during Account provisioning.

  • The Agile Research Role BPP automatically creates a new role called 'Agile Research' that has only the ‘View Agile Research’ permission applied.

  • Account Admin will be automatically assigned 'Agile Research' role permission and will be able to view Agile Research via the Application switcher in Experience Cloud.

See Agile Research Role BPP for more information.

See Enabling user access to Agile Research for steps to take after account has been provisioned.

Existing Experience Cloud customers on data records (EDRs)

As a technical qualification, all existing Experience Cloud customers must be on 23CR4 (e687) or a more recent release.

The Medallia Security Engineering team will verify this upon provisioning.

The Account Team must ensure the customer meets legal criteria.

Option 1 — Have a renewal or expansion Order Form signed after May 30, 2024. The Order Form must contain the following:

  • Standard Experience Cloud terms

  • The live Experience Cloud product description link

  • The live subprocessor link

Option 2 — Sign a separate legal letter to get access to Agile Research. No redlines are allowed.

Requesting Agile Research provisioning

Existing Experience Cloud customers on Experience Data Records (EDRs) should contact their account team to request access to Agile Research.

For internal Medallia employees:

  • SD/AE/CSM submits a request through #agile-research-request and completes necessary customer information.

  • This then goes to Deal Desk for review. As part of this request, you will be required to submit the name and email of the customers' Agile Research Account Administrator. Make sure this person is an existing contact in SFDC; and, if not, add them before submitting the request form.

Important:

The Agile Research Account Administrator has to be identified by the account team. This will be the person who gets the first provisioned Agile Research account. The Admin will then add other users.

Account provisioning process

Step 1 — After confirming that the customer meets legal criteria (i.e., has recent expansion or renewal with updated product description or signed a legal letter for Agile Research), Deal Desk will then manually trigger the Agile Research provisioning ticket in JIRA through SFDC.

Step 2 — An SRE will then provision Agile Research.

Note: If the account meets the legal criteria but there is no JIRA provisioning ticket, Tech Support should follow up with Product and ask to trigger Agile Research provisioning from SF.

If the letter is not signed, Deal Desk will respond to whomever submitted the request that the customer is not compliant with Agile Research requirements and cannot get access to Agile Research.

Note: There is no automatic alert to notify a customer Medallia account team that the legal letter has been signed. Whomever made the request to enable Agile Research is responsible for notifying other Medallia team members.

Non-data records customers

Experience Cloud customers must be on data records to get access to Agile Research. If you are not on data records, contact your Account Manager to discuss options.

If a customer is not on data records, Deal Desk will work with the customer to convert their existing contract.
