Sampling filters

Sampling filters determine which Invitation emails are included or excluded during the Sampling process based on business rules. Records that pass filtering proceed to the Quarantine rules stage of sampling. If there are multiple filters, they execute in priority order. A record excluded by any filter is permanently excluded, regardless of other filters. Without any Sampling filters, all records pass through this stage.

To use and access Sampling filters, see Access Shared assets. To use Sampling filters in Ad Hoc surveys, see Invitation analysis.

Priority
Determines the evaluation order of the Sampling filters. Filters with a lower priority number are applied first.
Action if match
Action to take when Survey rule matches a record:
  • Exclude all matches rejects records that meet the condition.

  • Include all matches accepts only records the meet the condition.

Note that other Sampling filters might reject a record that passed this action.
Survey rule
Condition that references one or more fields and which identifies the record as being affected by the Sampling filter. Incoming records matching this condition will trigger the Action if match property, usually preventing a survey from being sent. For example, to exclude all records from Germany, the rule condition should be Country = Germany, and the Action if match is Exclude all matches.
