Time groupings represent the types of time spans you want to track, such as weeks, fiscal years, weeks beginning on Monday, and so on. Groupings are needed when creating custom calendars, as described in Custom calendars.

1. Open the Reporting > Report Helpers > Time > Groupings screen.
2. Click New.
3. Enter the Name of the grouping.

   For example, if you are creating a retail calendar, you might create a Retail Year grouping.

4. If you are localizing your reporting application, consider entering a TranslationExplanation to assist the person translating your text.
5. Click Save.

   

6. Repeat these steps for other groupings you need.

   For example, you might want to track time by weeks, quarters, and seasons.

7. After you have created all of the groupings you need, refresh the Slug dataset with a backfill.
