Advanced reporting
Learn how to configure and manage your reports in Medallia Setup
Medallia Experience Cloud reports display survey data to users. Because access to reports is based on users' roles, you can create reports tailored for the needs of the various roles at your company. For example, you might create a different set of reports for corporate executives than you would for data analysts.
Report types
To help you display survey data, Experience Cloud provides the following report types:
- Dashboards — Summary reports that are typically the first thing users see when they log in. Every parent dashboard contains one or more child dashboard modules, which are the tables, charts, graphs, and so on that present data to users. For detailed information, see Dashboards.
- Standard reports — Detailed reports about survey invitations and customer responses to those surveys. Dashboard modules and custom reports often drill-down to standard reports for more detailed information. For detailed information, see Reporting and Standard reports.
- Custom reports — Reports built using the Experience Cloud Advanced Analytics XML framework (AA2). Create a custom report if you need to display information in a way not available in standard reports or dashboards. For detailed information, see Custom reports.
- Embedded applications — Web applications whose user interface is embedded within Experience Cloud, but whose back end processing resides on a different server than the backend Experience Cloud servers. Embedded applications allow you to extend Experience Cloud functionality, while taking advantage of the user and workspace context that Experience Cloud manages and provides. For detailed information, see Embedded applications.
Report navigation
Experience Cloud displays all reports in navigation containers called tabs and subtabs, which you can name and arrange as you see fit. Tabs define the top-level of report navigation, with each tab containing one or more subtabs. Each subtab contains a single report instance, which can display a dashboard with one or more dashboard modules, a collection of standard reports, a single custom report, or a single embedded application. For detailed information about creating tabs and subtabs, see Navigation.
Filtering and organizing report data
Most reports have a control panel at the top of the screen that allows users to filter and organize the data shown in their reports. You define which fields appear, and what options can be selected for those fields. For more information about how to configure filters, see Filters and control panels and Filters and controls.
